Eden Project, Cornwall
kai ena documentary se 2 parts
The Eden Project in Cornwall is a world-renowned attraction that explores humankind's relationship with plants. It's home to the world's largest covered conservatories known as 'Biomes' - a bit like gigantic greenhouses - and provides a fascinating visitor experience as well as unique resource for education.
Inside the Warm Temperate Biome of The Eden Project
The site itself is set in the spectacular hills of St Austell on what were once the sterile slopes of a disused clay pit. The effect is quite extraordinary with its massive Biomes seeming to bubble out from the hillsides.
The site is the size of a staggering 30 football pitches and the largest of its Biomes is 50 metres high - you could fit the whole of the Tower of London inside it! Here you can experience the tropical rainforests of Malaysia, West Africa and South America with temperatures of up to 30 degrees and up to 90 per cent humidity.
Waterfall in the Humid Tropics Biome of The Eden Project
The second largest Biome (35ft high) offers a more temperate climate. Walk between orange and lemon trees, old olive groves and gnarled vines as you discover the natural landscapes of the Mediterranean, South Africa and California. There's also 30 acres of outdoor landscaped gardens where you'll find plants from all over the world and discover how they've changed the past, and could change the future.
The Eden Project also has areas designed to make children and adults think about their lives and how plants play an important part. There are fun interactive activities, trails, play structures made out of willow and bamboo, and secret shortcuts for kids all around the site. Once you've explored Eden, relax in one of the award-winning restaurants where you'll find healthy and varied dishes made from local produce.
